My graduation capstone project involved an in-depth investigation and analysis of public perception and engagement with aquaculture, specifically leveraging NC State University’s hybrid striped bass program. Why hybrid? The NCSU Aquaculture Field Laboratory in Pamlico is the sole world source of domesticated striped bass and where the Genetic Improvement Program is managed.

I determined that the most effective way to reach consumers was through blog and Instagram content that was informative but not overly scientific. The content I created was designed for versatile cross-posting across any social media platform.

This self-study project prioritized the use of free resources and a simple design for future departmental updates, resulting in a comprehensive experience report titled: “Public Engagement: Aquaculture and NCSU Hybrid Striped Bass.”
